I want to know how saturated fat clogs arteries?
I want to know exactly how saturated fat clogs arteries. I read a few questions and answers already, but no one seems to really know. They say its because it is solid at room temperature, so it doesn't flow through the blood stream as well. But that is silly because our bodies are not room temperature. Also, the fat that is in a clogged artery is only 23% saturated fat. The rest of the fat is mono and poly unsaturated fat. Also, it is damage to the artery that initiates the process of clotting. Fat and cholesterol are merely ingredients or tools the body uses to repair damage, so I am curious as to how EXACTLY does saturated fat CAUSE clogged arteries? What is the exact mechanism by which saturated fat is the actual cause of a clogged artery?
