Why doesn't the sun always rise, transit, and set at the same time on the same day of the year?

Because the Earth doesn't orbit the Sun in a perfect circle, it's more of an oval.and because of the Earth's tilt, during different parts of the year, the Sun will rise transit and set at different times of the day.
